Calculus

Calculus is the mathematical study of continuous change, providing the language to describe how functions and quantities vary. It is built upon the foundational concepts of limits and is divided into two main branches.

  • Differential Calculus: Focuses on the instantaneous rate of change of functions and the slopes of their curves. Through the concept of the derivative, it allows us to analyze how a function behaves at any given point.

  • Integral Calculus: Deals with the accumulation of quantities and the calculation of areas or volumes. The integral allows us to sum up infinitely small pieces to find a whole.

  • Applied Calculus: Explores advanced methods where the principles of calculus are used to solve complex optimization and modeling problems.
